hi wanted to know if i could drill out the head stud bolt holes to 9/16 instead of 1/2. i have a newer block which take 9/16 studs, but my heads 1/2 inch studs. i know you can buy a stud reducer to an 1/2 stud for the heads and 9/16 for the block. but wanted to see if i can drill it instead, so may may buy a set of 9/19 studs for the block. thx

You're only taking out another .0625" of material total, .03125" on each side of the hole. Shouldn't be a problem on either cast or billet head.

What brand of heads are they?
If you dont have the studs anyway why not just get the steped ones
if you drill out the holes after you take out the steel inserts you probaly will drill thru the side of the exhaust ports not a biggy but something to interupt the air flow

I have two sets of BAE fuel heads that were drilled out to 9/16 and a KB block with half inch holes that I was gonna try to get the stepped studs for. Sounds like we need to trade blocks! :D
