Asking what will I need if i wanted to run a autometer shift light on a MSD ignition system, or will I need to use a MSD shift light?

After reading the MSD catalogue, If I used a MSD shift light, all i'd need is the pro mag tach converter and that will run both the tacho and the shift light? Does it make a difference if the tach doesn't have the shift light built in?

Or after all that, is it just easier to buy a MSD shift light and get rid of the Autometer light?

*Trying to minimalise issues when all the parts arrive, we got plenty to do already so anything to avoid more hassle is always a bonus* :D

we run a MSD 20 amp mag on our car. i use the autometer tach, and shift lite.....the one that you put chips in the front. i have never used any kind of tach converter, and have never had a problem with either one. when you buy the light, and the tach they should both come with an inductive trigger

that is all i have ever used, and it's just 1 less thing that you have to worry about because there is nothing to go bad. just my 2 cents hope this helps
