I just went to a 14-71, I run an enderle fuel pump. I had someone tell me if you run the pump straight off the cam you have to run a gear drive because the jesel timing belt will break. Is anyone else using/ tried this combination? Thanks

haven't run a belt drive... but have NEVER heard good things about running one on a motor with a cam driven pump and/or mag

get a good gear drive... donovan, keith black, rcd, etc

I would tend to believe that considering the amount of horsepower a pump needs to be run on a flow bench.

    jesel belt

We ran a 990 pump with no problems with a jesel belt.
Now we run a 44 mag of the Jesel belt with no problems, pump of the crank, spinning the engine 9000+ rpm.

    Good luck.

I only have about a gillion engines with this deal. I ALWAYS run a belt with my cam driven water pump. I prefer the Comp Cams belt drive, but I do have three engines that run jesel that either have a fuel pump or a boat cam driven water pump off of the front. Never one failure!

This bolts right off of the front cover to hold a fuel pump on a Jesel or Comp. Either use that or build your own.

You might think about some sort of cover for the belt drive. If a blower belt comes apart and gets into the belt drive you can waste a ton of titanium valves. I've seen it happen.

Good idea on the cover I'm gonna do it. I have ran my jesel belt with enderle fuel pump for many years and never a problem

The cover is a great idea. They do that on the NASCAR stuff. I started doing them and love it. Keeps everything inside of there clean of anything. Lots of little things like return road rocks that get stuck in strange areas.
