Its fu@#%%&$#ing embarassing. The teams that skipped this race from the area should be throttled. I don't get it. Gee what will the NHRA do now? They have every right to say we don't want no stinking top alcohol funny cars for sure. THe the guy in that class that supports the division the best, is from California.
To all that show up, I applaud you; and to those that aren't there.........
You give us that love the two clsses, not a lot to write about

just a thought,,,perhaps it may be the Friday,Saturday(night) format that could cause lack of cars,,,,don't know??? It is sad, however, like ole Clint Eastwood said "a man has got to know his limits" perhap this schedule and also the pre-season BS about having to pay an entry fee plus crew member fees,,,,,,well that may have been "their limit" Warren Dauzat

p.s. If you think this stinks and it does, wait till D4 race at no-problem race track and see if a simular "boy-cot" does not take place due to the" STUPID ASS" decission to NOT have TAD--TAFC at NHRA's first "sportmens" National event in many many years. Thanks Gramm for the re assurence of your nhra support of the alky classes. Maybe this is the hand writing on the wall.....stay tuned

Does anyone know how a two car ladder works? NHRA has told me several times they must have a first round, so does that mean no. 1 races no. 2 first round and then has a bye into a bye final?
Just food for thought if IHRA would let screw blowers in more TAFCs would go race. Or could it be a payout thing, once you get use to IHRA's payout and then have to pay to race maybe I also would stay home.

Hey guys I think the ladder works as follows you race change lanes race again and then if it has to go again to clear up the best two out of three you draw straws this way you have a first a second and third place so with this ladder it is possible to get first and third I guess. If some one spots me a car I'll be the third car next time.JDD

My hat goes off to Jay Payne and his crew, not just for winning the race but for running in the second qual. session all 7 of the dragsters did not run for obvious reasons.(already in the show & expenses).Jay was the only alcohol car to make a second pass and I dont think it was for testing reasons I think it was simply for the few fans who came to watch them run.

i know billington blew up in gville
sickles is running d1 this year
every other fc in the area is 'ihra' and probably didn't want to go to a nhra race. just more the reason why nhra and ihra need to go to the same rules..... it would help both sanctioning bodies car counts.

But none of those guys will switch to a roots !
LMAO ........ But it is no doubt a sign of the times, it hurts to be a contributing part of the show, yet pay your entry fee to supply the purse . It does have a parity issue for Roots cars to compete at the rules NHRA has even at a divisional level. Poor attendance at southern tracks so far for both sanctions. (Note: the second car @ Montgomery was Canadian) Jeff has both Roots and PSI set ups , he is from our area ...... we have 8 alcohol Funny cars within 50 miles or so of London , Ontario.

the thing about this, you'll see some teams try to jump on this next time around. historically, many times once you have a real low count one year, the next year tends to go up due to all the people that kicked themselves for not going. it will be interesting to see how many cars show up in valdosta.
