I started reading some of the crap again going on and I can say it's the same ol' shit. McDonalds should invest in this sight and serve some Whaa-bugers and french cries.

I have sat out most of this year to concentrate on my business but was invited to Topeka Division race. There, someone was chilling the fuel on a A-Fuel car. When the cars crossed the scale, this persons fuel was 20 degrees colder than everyone elses. My questions, is chilling fuel legal? If it is not legal, is this person cheating?

If this is not legal, I doubt that NHRA will do anything about it. They lack in the ball sack department. I'm just one guy, I have seen my share of cheating and no recoarse from NHRA. I say kick those out! Lets set an example so others will not want to cheat.

Those who have been caught always have a reason that's a fine line of a stated rule. If it's questionable, it should be asked first. That's if a person is honorable. Good luck to all you in Indy, don't forget your rain gear!!!!

    Rob,
I think the rules say you can't chill your fuel once it is 'in the car', but I could be wrong. I will check the rule book when I get home from work. Did this team have their fuel jugs on ice or were they icing the fuel tank??? The division 6 tech guy caught Hillary Will on a 'marginal' blower overdrive infraction (2.1515...) but at the Sears Point National event Collins (NHRA tech director?) checked all of the blown cars rotor profiles to make sure no one was using a Gizmo, but I never saw him count teeth on any pulleys. Rules enforcement seems to be inconsistent at best. I remember back during the 'blower wars' they checked pulleys at the weight and fuel check on a regular basis.

Division 6 has always checked pulleys and put a tech sticker on the pulley at each event. If you change pulleys you are advised to get a new tech sticker prior to your run.

the rule book states any method of artificially cooling or heating fuel is PROHIBITED (ie cool, cans, ice, freon, wet rags, etc)except as noted in class requirements. that is what it says Dave

I think you had better check with NHRA before you begin accusing anyone of cheating. I've tolerated alot of cheap shots here and on other message boards, but not anymore.

At best, sounds like a good post for the a-fuel board.

For clarification on the rule you should contact Danny Gracia,Jim Collins,or Bob Blackwell.
Talk to them to find out how stupid you maybe.

this is from the top of nhra tech. cooling of fuel is illegal AFTER it is put in the tank. there are no rules governing temperature of fuel before it is put in the tank. so there was no cheating in topeka, and nhra has ruled on this.
