Niver team

Beginning at Seattle, NHRA began awarding the Brut "Essence of Racing" award ($1000) at each national event to Sportsman racers who "best exemplify the spirit of racing". I wasn't sure how that was going to be judged until I noticed that Mark Niver's Billet Bullet team got the award at Sonoma. The Nivers build their own parts and cars, are resilient, and are possibly the nicest people in the pits. I can't think of another team that could better embody what racing (is/should be) about. Congrats!

Congrats Mark, Tannis & gang. Absolutely one of the nicest groups in drag racing! Mark is also the best craftsman around.

 

Congrats to the Niver crew. U guys are one of a kind, keep on chargin, GOOD LUCK!

What a great topic... BRUT deserves credit where credit is due. {Ron must have something to do with this. "Right On"} There are so many individuals, and teams that work so darn hard to do this, without much recognized credit. Niver and crew, are what the "Essence" is made from. "MONEY," does drive the sport any more. That is just the realization, "Good parts cost good money." It's just nice to see an award that actually thanks the true "Racer", not the racer that's just doing it to make their ego feel better. Congratulations to The Niver team. Jason,
