Camshaft Profile

what camshaft profile are you guys runing in blown top alcohol.

 

I have no idea, just bought a new .800 lift blower cam from Oddy's, he don't tell you anything except what to set lifters at and what centerline it degrees at. He even grinds all the numbers off the end. Kinda makes me wonder how good this is gonna work.

 

I used his stuff in the past. It always worked well. A lot of engine builders do that in an effort to keep their knowledge to themselves. They may have spent a lot of money R&Ding to find what works best. I would be very surprised if it didn't really good.

 

I am sure it will work just as good as the 296-500 with the numbers still on it

I agree with Kevin, anyone who has spent the time and effort to find out which cam works best with each setup and the small changes that make a difference sure does not want to give them away. That said its a simple enough mater to find out the profile of the lobe and copy it...but at least it keeps the honest people honest.

When I was running nitrous I had an Applied Nitrous fogger and all sorts of people wanted to know what the nozzles looked like and if the solenoids were double tapped, can I see your flow sheets, etc. Then they would get pissed off when I told them that Jeff would be happy to set them one up? a lot of people just have no idea of the amount of time and money people spend to get this knowlege.

PS I am not saying anyone on here was asking for information....I don't know how I got out in left field,I guess its just old age
