I have searched and searched for information on what material to use to have my seat covered.
All the rule says is: “For supercharged or turbocharged open-bodied cars (gasoline- or methanol-burning), a flame-retardant-material-covered seat is mandatory”.
    I am
This is what the seat looks like:

Tom at Wizards stocks the material for the do-it-yourself guy or Dennis (Taylor) can make one for you.

All of these suggestions are truly great!
Are there any other options available ? I'm not a "do it yourself" type when it comes to upholstery:)
Would I need to change the shape of my seat to accomodate the cover?
Is there somebody out there that I can send this seat to that will cover it and do it in a 3 to 5 week period?

:confused:I thought this rule was applied only if you have a seat cover that is not fire retardant? Bare aluminum seats cant burn so do they still require a cover under these new rules?

I've read it a lot of times. It says "a flame-retardant-material-covered seat is mandatory". It doesn't say " if your seat is covered, it has to be a flame retardant material". I'm confused too!
Am I taking this rule's meaning correctly?

For the Top Dragster class, I received an email from Mike Rice, Div 7 Director, that said flame-retardant material is mandatory, even though my seat is bare aluminum.
    Hope this helps,

Frank, get you an ISP seat kit, form fitted and when finished it's covered with nomex.

    Frank70,
Nostalgia rules are different. Read the nostalgia supplement to the rules. If you have to cover it, call Dennis Taylor.

Buy you some nomex material have your wife (or girlfriend) make a patern out of butcher paper cut your material off the pattern and sew. Or you can use fabric glue and just cut the material to fit and spray the glue & install the material in the seat.
The rules do not preclude you from doing yourself.l
