Nothing wicked accurate.... Just an idea to do a little bench racing.

Need a horsepower estimate on the following.

    496" BBC
    Canfield Aluminum Heads Unported. ( 350cc, 119 Combustion Chamber, 2.30 / 1.90 Titanium Valves, 24.5 Degree )
.800 Lift Billet Roller Camshaft, 4/7 swap.
    Jessel Shaft Rockers
    4340 Non Twist Forged Crankshaft
    Billet Mains
    Billet Rods with L19 Bolts
    O-ringed block
    Wet Sump
    11 to 1 Compression
14-71 Kuhl Standard Helix 20% over
    Nitro Barrel Valve
    Buzzard Catcher on M1 Methanol...

What should the above motor run in a 2650# Door Car ( With Driver ) and a 4-Speed Lenco (2.49 Low), 4.30 Gears. Car is running 34.5x17's on 16" Rims.

Again, just looking for a rough estimate....

I was thinking around 1400 myself, but like you said, it is a wild guess... I am hoping the car will go 7.30's with my 4-speed lenco door car at 2650 pounds.

I know I can get a bunch more out of it, but I really want to make the thing reliable and easy on parts.... But still go in the bottom half of the 7 second zone.

    Maybe a point of reference...
2930# A/Gas car, 565 Chevy, Big Brodie heads, 8-71 HH Retro, 27#s, (about 1500HP) Lenco 3 speed went 7.60/181 pretty easily. Had been 7.40's but not much more MPH
(lots more weight than yours, about the same HP)

Im going to take a shot in the dark and say probably about 1700-1800 hp...I say that only because of the energy rate M1 makes in the combustion chambers...and on 11:1 compression im sure you have quite a good deal of piston speed and cylinder pressure.

In '97 we ran a similiar setup.

    540 vs 496
    10.5 vs 11
Dart 360's with Indy's best port job
LF HH retro 14 at 45% over
    .750 lift

We made 1430 HP 1250 FT Lbs the torque curve changed 12 ft lbs from 4500 to 6500 RPM. Flat as a Ruler!

The only IF I have to add,,,
We couldn't run zoomies, so we used 2.5" primary car headers with 5 inch collectors. We had to screw the dyno room exhaust flex hose to the collector because we kept blowing it apart.
I've always wondered how that screwed up the dyno runs, but the tune was similiar to on the track.

I would think 1600-1700, my 2200 + driver door car runs 4.70 and 7.35 with an 8-71 standard helix, non stripped w/ street intake on a 540 bbc and enderle alcohol hat. mild tune up. Good baseline to start with.
