I have noticed a few cars stacking the 6 shooters. What would be the purpose of that and how does it work?

    Hi

The main purpose is to adjust the timing at a prescise interval or location on track so that you can alter the power of the engine to keep , limit or restrict tire speed as your car moves on the racetrak . You can stack as many six shooter as you need provided that a good electric system controlls it .

Electric motion seeems to be the best system so far , we got a new third generation box that seems to be best stuff out here .

    hope this helps!

I don't think that Sean is asking what a 6 shooter does, but why would you stack them.
As JP stated, the 6 shooter allows you to alter the ignition timing based on triggered events. The triggered events are usually time based, but can be anything that provides a 12V output to one of the channels of the 6 shooter.
The six shooter has 6 channels, 1 for your initial timing setting and 5 more to make changes to your ignition timing as events occur.
However, what if you want to make 6 or more timing changes during a pass? That is when you will need to stack another 6 shooter, adding another 6 channels. A pair of stacked 6 shooters creates a 12 shooter.

    Chris,

Would it be a 10 shooter? “1 for your initial timing setting” and 5 more to make changes to your ignition timing as events occur. And you would need “initial timing” for each 6 shooter.
Maybe they should be call "5 shooters"

Not quite , as you can have diferent "chips" on your next six shooter number 1 stage , also you can have a base timing diferent than the no.1 chip in the first stage and active a first change thru the gray wire in the retard box therefore getting 7 changes on the first .

This is not to confuse anyone , All I intended was to tell that you can stack as many six shooters as needed to make as many timing changes as you feel to get the car down track.
