Has anyone worked with one of these hats? I have heard they have internal air flow problems. I am going to build a adapter from the small opening on the hat to the large opening on my blower. I want to incorporate an air divider in it, or should I weld it in the hat and how much clearance between the plate and the rotors I was thinking .100 also what if the support was cut out of the center of the blower and a one inch aluminum adapter was bolted on top of the blower and had extra holes tapped on the side where the support was to help make it stronger and allow for the divider plate to pass trough. I looking for suggestions. I just don't want to go backwards and I am not that sharp on blower/hat mods. THANKS IN ADVANCE CRAIG

I'd think that cutting the center support out of the blower inlet would be a bad idea.

There's probably a good deal of structural ridgidity in that center support, keeping the case from spreading under boost.

Why not just mill a section of your adapter out for the center cross member?

    center support

I have seen pics on blowers that did not have the cross bar I can add it to the adapter and bolt it down where the support was and custom make it with the correct angle and inlet shape thank for the input Craig

Another option would be to shape the cross bar, so it is still there to maintain case rigity, but flows air well also.
I'd probably bullnose the top and sharpen the bottom, much like the shape of a fish.;)
