    In Bernstein or Herbert's injection hats, how does the throttling device work?

    It is like a throttle body on top of the blower with a hood scoop on top of it. Doug

    No butterflt. Picture a carbuerator with a butterfly on the bottom of it and a hood scoop sitting on top.

    I priced one last year, seems like it was almost 5000.00 bucks with the scoop.

    Slot Injector

    So not crazy different then the old Slot Injector or a Barn Door?

    What was the demise of 1 large rectangular butterfly?

    Was it hard to maintain idle stability?

    I don't think I have seen the Slot type injector.

    Idle stability, as I would think that we all agree on, would be controlled by the gap you set around each of the butterflies when they are completely closed. Rectangular or round, 1, 2, or 4 butterflies shouldn't make a difference. The amount of air entering your hat at idle is adjustable. It is also measureable. the total area of a 0.005" gap around a 4" round butterfly is certainly different than the area around a 2-1/2" X 4-1/4" rectangular butterfly. ( I didn't do the math on this example but you know what I am saying).
    I can see how just having one or two butterflies would allow a bigger difference in idle stability if the single or double butterfly came loose on the shaft during a run, rather than one that has 4 butterflies. I just don't see it being so big a problem that you would "abandon" that particular injector.
    My two cents, normally worth at least 1.:)

    Enderle has a upright three door unit that works real nice. They also have a billet filter base with a radius entry that can be modified to adapt a scoop. Call me for deatails and a price if interested. It can be drop shipped. Bill @ 337-543-2028

    This is what I was talking about;

    My limited experience around large rectangular butterfly's is if done incorrectly the butterfly and/or shaft evidently flexes enough to cause idle stability grief.

    Didn't the early carbon fiber stuff have some idle stability grief?

    The problem with it is that my blower opening is 9.5 inches long that upright is something like 15".
