about, what looks to be Cy Chesterman's first ever National championship.

    01 Cy Chesterman 786 7/5
    02 Jay Payne 729 11/8
    04 Frank Manzo 679 6/5
    03 Dennis Taylor 651 6/6
    05 Bob Newberry 650 9/5
    08 Bucky Austin 594 8/7
    06 Mick Snyder 581 6/7
    07 Paul Lee 573 7/5
    09 Doug Gordon 549 5/6
    10 Tate Branch 534 7/6

Manzo can not catch him as he can only improve by 21 divisionally and 42 nationally for the title for a total of 743. Jay has run out of races. Bucky can't catch him. Dennis Taylor can only increase his total to 715, and the Newb can only earn another 79 for a total of 729

Unless I am missing something, congrat's to Cy Chesterman.

There are four divisionals left. Bella Rose this week, Atco next week, Darlington at the end of the month, and then Vegas...

Bill Reichert has only 2 ways to improve- both of which require him to go to the final. He can gain 11 points with a R/U or 22 with a win. This gives him a possibility of either 708 or 719 points.

Randy Meyer only has 1 way to improve- he has to win Pomona and Reichert has to stay out of the final. This would give him 701 points with the win, but if Reichert R/U's to Randy's win then Bill would win with 708 over Randy's 701 points.

Finally, Mitch Myers has the most possibilities left as he has 1 Div and 1 Nat to improve upon and only needs to improve 43 and 42 points respectively. Mitch can gain 17 with a R/U or 37 with a win at the Vegas Div. This would take him to 671 or 691 points heading into Pomona. But, Myers doesn't have to do anything at Vegas if he wins Pomona and Reichert stays out of the final round. This would give Myers 43 points and tie Reichert for 1st at 697 points each. I have no clue what the tie breaker is so a little help is appreciated. Additionally, depending on how Vegas goes, there are lots of possibilities at Pomona... with a win at Vegas Myers only needs to go to the Semis to pick up 11 points (with Reichert staying out of the final) and claim the Championship even if Randy wins Pomona. This would have Myers at 702 points and Randy at 701 points.

Should be a fun last couple of races... let the best AFD win!

That would certainly be alot smarter decision to make even with the added cost.
The Vegas divisional is like a national only with an 8 car field and it is at elevation.
If I was making the decision, I would head back east and race one of the races back there instead. (not that Mitch would ever take anything I said and consider it ;) ;) )
Ya still mad at me Mitch :D

its not about the size of the field... as i think they have proven that over the last 2 natl's by qualifying #1 at each of them. its about going rounds and winning.

btw, who in their right mind would pass up vegas to head east?

I agree, it isn't the size of the field that counts, it is the quality of cars. That being said, how many title contenders do you think will be at Atco or Gainesville, compared to Vegas???

That being said, If I had a divisional race upon which to improve upon, I know what race I would be going to... And it sure wouldn't be Vegas...

Mitch didn't have much luck last time he was in the Northeast, so maybe he's better off staying out West. Atco might be too cold for TAD.

Who says you have to pass up Vegas, But going to Vegas knowing you won a Divional back East would make Vegas that much more fun and alot less pressure having to Win two races back to back.

Go "East Old man Go East".
