What tire? There is a big difference when we know what tire you are running. (Series of tire. It will be a stamp on the sidewall. If goodyear, it will be a 4 number code. like 1230, 1430, etc.)

The 2300's like a fair amount of pressure. Some of the dragster guys really liked to up the pressure a fair chunk. Some teams were over 10 psi with these for a while!!
However most of the funny car teams would run them with between 7 and 8 pounds. Different tune ups liked different pressures. They tend to act like other types of tires in the 2000 series where they like more pressure for more grip and a little less pressure to make the tire slip a little. Seems backwards from the standard tires for decades, but so it is. And too low a pressure will really ball these tires up quickly.
Almost all of the testing with these tires is on beadlocks, so you may be in for a little pioneering, but should not be too much trouble.
My guess is start about 7.25 to 7.5 PSI.
Good luck and tell us how it goes.

Thanks to all for the response.
I'm going to try them tomorrow, since my last tyres were 34.5 Hoosiers with liners pressure was at 45psi in the liners & 5 in the slick.
I'm going to try 48psi in liner & 6 in the slick .
    I'll let yous knows

First of all, I am glad that things worked out. Going to a fuel tire really can take away shake prone set-ups. Look at one of the common answers to cronic tire shake in a nitrous pro mod. 'Switch to a 36" fuel tire.'
Wow, that is really surprising that you got a 2300 GoodYear to work with that little tire pressure. Every time I or anyone I know tried to go lower than 6.75 real problems arose. Mostly from launch to 150 feet. But again, these were all on beadlocks.
Since GoodYear went away from the 1230 tire, the fuel tires are a completely different animal. They like big pressure and don't act like a standard drag tire. Most of them liked more than 7 psi. As far as I know the newer model Goodyear fuel tires are the only tires made that really like big pressure. Everything else has stayed the same. Hoosier, M/T, Toyo, the 34.5's, the pro stock style tires, the bracket stuff, etc all like to be between 5 and 6. I have seen newer fuel tires over 10 psi on top fuel cars.
So when asking for tire pressure, we need to know the tire. And advice for a newer fuel tire cannot be used on anything but those tires. And advice on another tire cannot really transfer over to the newer Goodyears.
Just something to slip back into the "I probably will never need this" portion of the brain.

    Fuel tank

Just did some mods and welding on our fuek tank in our A-fuel car. Is it just best to blow it out or should I rinse it with something and then the air? Thanks Don donimus333@yahoo.com
