i'm swapping ratio's in my Strange Top loader from 4.29 (9") to 4.56 (9.5")and a buddy tells me that the pinion bearing needs to be ground to clear the crownwheel teeth:eek:

I'm gonna have a proper look tomorrow night but this doesn't sound right. I'm figuring grinding a taper on the bearing center will weaken it beyond measure. If there is insufficient clearance, there should be a bearing maunfactured with the right clearance, right?

Anyone come across this problem before?? or can suggest the right bearing??

    I appreciate the help.

    Cheers

Russ; if you're close to Brisbane, take it to RayDiff, he's got all the talent and proper tools, or call him: 07-3376-1827. (Western Suburbs Diff Service)
