I'm thinking of using a Racepak UDX dash in my new car as it will be more readable than my existing Racepak guages. I'm just worried in case it won't be robust enough to survive. Any one ever run one?

I have one in a Pro mod car, the driver seems to be able to hit launch right, and has no issue see it. Also runs all day everyday (touchwood)

    Dash

I assume you are talking about using the dash that hooks up to the V series of recorders. With that said I have one in my blown dragster and it works great! Easy to hook up..easy to read..easy to install a big shift light!
I have put myself into amazingly brutal tire shake and the dash has NEVER failed or come loose. It seems to be a VERY VERY durable piece..not to mention it looks cool and weighs a lot less then a bunch of guages. It is also nice to be able to see oil pressure, fuel flow etc in addition to RPM all on my front screen when starting the car, after the burn out and before staging.

Yes - that's the one I mean. The guy who is building the car is concerned that the dash won't last long. And once we're committed to the UDX dash, we're committed. We'll probably go with the UDX eventually but may stick with the existing guages in the short term. Thanks for the responses....

    Udx

I have mine mounted in my carbon fiber dash and i have no problems at all...Zero..Nada! IT truly is an awesome dash...Once you put it in you will never take it out and I doubt you will ever have a problem...Mine has been in my car for 2 years and I have abused my car so bad with tire shake that I have broken motor plates and rolled sprags and the dash has never missed a beat! Not one single time.
