    Hey,

How long does a new good 14-71 blower last?

I am not talking about restripping etc.

Point is to show that it's a long term investment. "Good one costs quite a bit, but it lasts ..." How long?

Or is it outdated by superior product before physically expiring? :)

    Thanks,
    Partel

Dunno... I'm using a SSI blower that was bought originally by Chuck Etchells over 12 years ago.

The case, bearing plates, rotors, and front cover all have matching serial numbers.

Sure, it's outdated in terms of technology, but it works just fine.

if you never backfire it, probably for ever. Teflon is replacable, bearings are replaceable. Rotors, bearing plates are not a wear item.

I would think with safe tuneups, and proper maintenance, forever.

    Not a big help huh?

echnology advances at a fair rate but I would think its safe to assume a new blower will not be too outdated for about 3 to 4 years unless its a screw then that would be 10 yrs or so.
