seat belts

    does anyone know details on the seatbelts that came undone? 1IHRA AFC and Hillary Will? Actual fault and make.
    human error or manufacturer problem, we should be aware! DT, any info?

    I don't know any details of an equipment "fault", but when Hillary was being pulled back to her pits she put her finger up to her head like a pistol and pulled the trigger, like "she" might have been the one at fault.
    Don't know, but she sure didn't make a big deal about her belt latches "failing".

    belts

    if it could have been caused by the chin strap, is there a preferred position for it or the arm restraints that would lessen the possibility of accidental release?
    I did have issue early on w/ HANS release straps catching on shoulder belt and releasing the helmet before I stopped. Fixed that but later saw a great use of velcro by another team to hold them away.

    I have seen first hand belts and quick release hubs come un-done when not completely latched. Although they seem to be latched if the pins are not completely engaged through the hole the right pressure-angle can release them. Sometimes in the rush of getting buckled in this can be overlooked. Tug, Pull and Yank, it's your ass in the seat I tell people this all the time.
