How is it that the rule book states, Car & driver must weigh X amount, yet the driver is at the end of the track waiting to be interviewed? And the crew is towing the car back to the pits, How do the tech guys know if the car is legal? Has drag racing gotten like baseball's designated hitter? Is there a designated weigh in guy now? Or don't they even give a $h!t anymore? :D

I actually spent Fri & Sat afternoons in the Topeka Tech Building (for the cool breeze) and actually saw the pro stock guys being weighed twice each(with helmet and without). Many of the fuel teams were just waved on by tech officials. They just spot checked fuel. Remember, this was during qualifying only.

they don't weigh the fuel cars diring eleminations. with the short turn around time on sunday, there isn't time to have the guys line up for the scales.

Because of turn around times, and interveiws usually after the first qualifing pass the car is weighed twice. Once with the driver, that weight is logged then the crew member that drives the car while it is being towed to the pits is weighed and that is logged also.
