Just had another race which ended pre-maturely for us. Mid way through the burnout a few cylinders dropped and after getting back to the pits we found that the lifters had fallen apart, snapping / bending the link bar, rotating in position and obviously marked the cam pretty bad.

I won't say on a public domain which brand they were, through fear of .. well you know. Would anyone recommend different brands? We have had a lot of people saying Crane lifters are exceptionally good.

We ran .904" lifters in our KB Hemi block, not sure what spec cam is in there, but I can find out the data sheet pretty easily I think.

Just would like to hear peoples opinions on brands, and types of lifters to use within those brands.

    Thanks

We have never lost a Crane lifter. Our lifters also have a small laser cut high pressure oil hole which feeds oil directly down to the roller.

Just a thought, if the tie bars are failing first ( bending breaking etc), you dont have std spread lifters in a spread lifter block or the other way around?
