If it couldn't be us, I would want it to be You Guys!:D A Big "Conrats" from T-N-T Motorsports Team. I was REALLY hoping you could back it up Larry. The interesting thing was it wasn't in Marylands normally "sub zero" DA numbers, it was HOT out there! You will always be the "FIRST to 250". Thats one big honor buddy! Just hope the Media takes notice of this;)

Just looked through all the runs that are on DRC from this year for Alky FC's at IHRA National Events. Here are the 5 runs where they listed all the incrementals. Take the numbers for what they are... I'm not sure that you can prove or disprove that he went 254 mph based upon these numbers. In my opinion it looks to me like 254 might be a little bit high, but it definitely was a killer run...

    great run!

i think the 1/8 mile speed and the back half segment time definitely back up that this was a legit run. i'm guessing the difference in et's and speed probably comes from a complete different style of running the car...:D

    mph is hp...

So do we think that was an Al Billes modified Rootes blower on that car?

EXACTLY! Its a shame that someone that runs 249 gets so much more recognition than someone that "kills" that number!! Maybe you need to change your name or color your hair Larry;) We love ya brother, you worked hard for it.

Looking at photos of the car I've noticed that it has a large Oddy's sticker on the car. Would Bill Leverentz and the guys have something to do with the performance too.

There is probably something common there between Al Billis and Oddy since Al used to drive for them.

Yep, after seeing that picture that is Darren's two hole hat. Can't tell much about the blower but that would be a good assumption that it is the M5 holding up the hat.

    254 mph

This really is a great accomplishment for Larry and the whole hard working team. Going into the first round I told Larry I really wanted to see him back it up even though it probably would have put us on the trailer.
He still is the First to do it as far as I am concerned!
Way To Go Larry and Team!
Whether they post it in the magazines or not keep up the great work!

    Setting the 'record' straight

Larry Dobbs and the Kardiac Kids Racing Team would first off like to thank everyone for the support and praise we recieved over the past weekend. It is a real honor to be the first Roots car over 250 mph and to surpass the mark by almost 5 mph makes it that much more special!

My dad (Larry) has always said his one remaining goal was to go 250, so we gave him the best father's day gift we could the gift of "254.14".

To put the record staight the blower is the same K-11 we have been running for the past 3 seasons, and yes we are running the new 2 Hole injector from DMPE. We did our own modifications the middle of last season and spent the last four races over-powering the racetrack. We finally figured how to get down the track again. We are running the same engine combination we have been running. Billy Leverentz @ Oddy's stepped on board over the past winter and the partnership does definately have alot to do with the performance gains..... Those are our secrets....

There is alot of speculation right now, but all I ask is for a little credit. We work harder than any other team (except your's Tim ..lol..) and we have tried alot of experimental in house things this season. Only if we had the funding to afford parts that would hold up for a full race you would be hearing alot more from us!

Thank you racing fans for all the support, and gratitude because we know we did something special we just hope the racing world recognizes our accomplisment

Your welcome:)! Some day all of our hard work is going to pay off too:rolleyes: IHRA AFC is the BEST! When you look at the "ratio" of "qualified" cars to number of cars attempting to qualify, we have the toughest class in IHRA! Makes those accomplishments that much sweeter. Once again, GREAT JOB guys, see ya in Grand Bend (Edmonton is just STUPID!)

I was VERY glad to see the 254.14mph pass come from your team! I work on the phones at Summit Racing Equipment and I take both Pro Shop calls and regular sales calls, while I was placing an order for a gentleman from Welland, Ontario and I asked him if he had heard about Larry Dobbs' historical pass? He said no, but was estatic when I told him the good news! Keep up the good work! Drake
