Dunno about Kobelco, but my old Littlefield snout fit on my SSI.

Don't SSI/Kobelco use the same front cover design???

Aren't their more holes in the SSI?

I'm wondering about the interchangeability myself.

There are more holes in the SSI front cover that attaches it to the bearing plate/case, but the bolt pattern and number of bolts that hold the snout on are identical.

I did have to get a new gear coupler adapter, because the SSI has a larger register. RBS sells an adapter.

I have a littlefield snout on a kobelco /M5 case my case is 12 bolt but the snout is 6 bolt as are regular kobelco's it all bolts on, the kobelco drive coupling is a different spline so that wont fit, the littlefield coupling has smaller bolts on the same PCD so they drill out ok, the front case where the front bearing is in the kobelco will have to be machined out and the bearing done away with, even fitting an RCD snout to a kobelco you have to lose this bearing also so its not a problem,
if your fitting an extended snout bear in mind that a kobelco drive coupling sits about 1" further back than a stock littllefield one so a 7" snout (which i have) needs a littlefield drive coupler for a 8" snout....or a 1" spacer on the existing spacer and longer bolts.......i have done this conversion as i needed 7 inches (dont we all) and the RCD was only available in 8" hope this helps
we got everything from Gary Burgin
