    Cap

How big of a Off-Set do you have?If you are trying this with No Off-Set FORGET It!
I use a George Sitko Frt.Mag and Pump Drive. It bolts up the the Gear Drive, and Works SWEET!

Yes you can! My car (1471 2 INCH SET BACK) was setup with a msd distributer and crab cap. The cap is lower in height than the top of the manifold. You just have to put it in before you bolt the blower down because it will be over the top of it. You'll have enough rooom to take the cap off to change rotor but can't change gear position/change a tooth. I ran crank trigger, so once it is in it was never messed with.

Doesn't it kind of depend on the manifold height?

Well yes it does I suppose . The crap cap sets very low, in fact lower than the top of the intake runner on the head. So unless you have some sort of manifold with runners that run downward towards the intake valley and not up, it will work just fine.

i dont know if msd improved the crab cap but we had the same set up years ago and the cap would not last. if i remember correctly a wire made the connection between the terminal at the rotor and the plug wire terminal and was not durable

I run a crab cap on a big chevy with a 14/71. My intake is a Indy big chief, but to get the cap to fit right I had to cut the rear of the intake down some for room. No big problems though since I had to machine it for an o-ring on top anyway. After machining the rear down I welded a 1/4'' piece of alumn. over the hole, basically I just cut it back to the id of the to rear intake runners. Never had a problem with top clearance, even with 2" setback on blower. Just takes a little time to get the dist. set right for proper phasing since even with the cutting I can't turn it much from right to left. Hope this helps. Jody Stroud TD 9325

GFORCE, I wish I had the room to run a front drive, but with my dragster I don't have room between the blow shield and the motor. May try one of Fowler's offset drives and a Mag over the summer.

    Drive

Isnt Jeff's like a Pinoneer Drive, where the Gear drive and Cover,is all 1 Unit and you just drop a Complete Mag and standard drive into?
I know that Jeff is on top of the GAME!
