    NO MORE VALVE TRAIN PROBLEMS

At the PRI show this year I saw the new Manton Rockers and Tooled steel push rods.
After talking with Noel and Terry I decided to purchase two sets along with the Tool Steel push rods. They both went into great detail on the workings of their set up.
I thought that if it would work half as well as they calmed I would be happy. I had been burning pushrod and times had burnt up a few adjusters and broken a few intakes and one exhaust rocker. I can now say that I have not had a single valve train, rocker or pushrod problem. I have put 20 plus passes on both sets on two different BAE’s at 9,800 RPM.
I feel the old rockers did a fair job. However as promised by Noel and Terry their rockers and tool steel pushrods are keeping every promise made.

Todd, I agree. On our last rebuild for the start of this season we switched to the Manton tool steel tipped pushrods and switched the regular adjusters also to tool steel adjusters and we have not had any pushrod problems:D:D.

I know another thing that works to prevent valve train failures- a Miner Bros motor. Dave Germain

We use the Manton adjusters with the hole in the center - and give em a "pump" of Detroit Diesel "peanut butter" with a palm style grease gun at the beginning of every event to pre-lube the ball/cup...never had a pushrod problem with this procedure.

We also run the Manton adjusters with the hole in them, but with the BAE block we have no problems and no pre-oiling.

Hey Nitro Madness. That peanut butter works for you but in a conversation with Terry Manton some time ago he had concerns on using grease especially like that peanut butter that will not be disolved or emulsified by the motor oil. Then this grease may actually block the flow or splash of lubricating oil causing the pushrod tips to burn up. Like I said this must not be happening to you but just as a warning to others.

Since we have a Ford Boss Hemi where the oil comes up the pushrods I use an oil can to pressure force oil through the hole in the adjusters and down the pushrods. This gives me immediate lubrication on the first startup of the day.
