Anyone use the simpson version of/hans?

Wondering if anyone has used simpsons version of the hans? looks like I have to buy one 4 my class now!!! Not wanting to be cheap but the simpson version I saw for $450 new compared to $900 for the hans. thanx Disco

 

They have a new HANS that sells for around $730.00 thats about one pound heaver than the carbon version.

I looked up the $495 device, on the Simpson website, it is the original hutchins device. They are the makers of the R3 device, which they came up with as a result of sactioning bodies saying the soft version is not a suffcient restraint device. I believe this device is not SFI certified. I believe the hans is the best designed device on the market, simply because they are the only one that places the tethers in the line of action of head movement in the event of an impact.

 

I love my han's you can get into the dragster and then put it on if you want..others have all kinds of straps and buckles..Dave

han's has come out the the sport it is a little heavier and comes in 20deg and 30deg. the r3 now has what they call rage it also is alittle heavier and has differant degrees. both are more the the sportsman. hope this helps
