what is the general belief on the effects of changing tire pressure for changing track conditions to control the driveshaft? using Goodyears/liners on TAFC. does one increase or decrease pressure to increase bite? what would be the range from say 75deg to 115deg or slimey to stickey? how far out is the effect realized, 1sec,2 sec, etc.?

    hook

the more pressure you put in the tire, the more it will hook and the less the sidewall will wrinkle. it puts more of a footprint down with more air pressure. if you drop the air pressure, it will let the tire cup more and it's easier to spin.

I've seen tire pressures range from 4-6 lbs.

thats what i have been lead to believe too but attempts to slow the shaft by other means while running the tire at the upper end of pressure appeared to be futile but lowering the pressure by a significant amount resulted in a considerable reduction in shaft speed for the first second and a somewhat positive response in 60' time. wondering if we were potentially just out of range on pressure for the rest of our tune up to begin with?

    what I was taught

set the tires at one pressure, say 5 1/2, work with the clutch. you should NOT very the tire pessure more than 1/2 lb up or down. when its hot maybe go up 1/4, work the clutch. repeat the clutch part till it works. hooziers or goodyears arenot designed to work at low pressures anymore. the fuelers run 6 at the lowest. they work the clutch. my 2cents, (about all its worth)

    pressure

with our torque converter car, we made our best runs (5.66/254) with 4.6 lbs in Goodyears. it just liked it right there.

Will , Was That With Beadlocs Or Liners ? Our Car (lencodrive) Was So Violent At The Hit,tire Pressure Would Not Controll It . Finally Added A Couple More Nozzles And It Tamed It Down, where I Could Play With Tire Pressure.
