On an alcohol funny car chassis, what is the norm as far as... bottom rail diameter? Our chassis has an inch and 3/8ths diameter tube. I know some chassis' have an inch and 1/4 tubes. Is it possible that the inch and 3/8ths tubes can make the chassis too rigid? The reason I ask is that the car never seems to 60 foot. No matter what you do to the tune up, it just seems to repeat itself. We always seem to be able to get 1.00 to .990 sixty foots. But really need to be around .950 to .960.

    Size matters......some say.

    But in this case, no.
Best bet is to look in the can.

Forget the clutch and buy a Lencodrive! Converter multiplies your torque when leaving. Tell Gary Sumek I told you to call.
