What seems to be the best fluid to run in a Lenco CS2? How often do most people change out the fluid? Any need to juggle grades based on the outdoor temps?

I assume that the transmission clutches work pretty well the same in the CS2 as they do in the CS1. My experience is that regular transmission oil is the best (Dexron 2 or 3), not motor oil and not synthetic oil. Either one of these can cause the sprags to slip, blackening the races (in the most optimistic scenario) and letting loose completely, over revving the motor in the worst case. The tranny fluid is not as good for the bearings or gears, but I would rather replace those once in a while than have a sprag fail.

Lenco told me they would sell me their oil, but for my car they recommended using a reputable brand 10w-30 (no synthetic) and change it after every race. Basically every 5-10 passes. He went on to say that when people spend money on the expensive oil they tend to change it less. They would rather have me change it frequently.
I just changed to the 10w-30. I was running Kendall straight 30. My clutchs lasted twice as long as with typ F tranny fluid. Tire shake killed my sprags, not the fluid.

ok here is one completely differant
we have found over the years that using 0w-30 synthetic motor oil has worked the best for us
bearings live 3 times as long
clutch and plates last almost forever
and absolutely no sprag problems (we use the clip sprags)
we went to a rubber sealed bearing to keep the clutch particles out

tanny fluid killed clutch packs which in turn killed the bearings
and yes tire shake is what rolls the sprags
