    Hey Guys

Technically not a tech question but I'm in need of some inspiration/help for my final year project at Uni, I'm studying Performance Car Technology and need some (very quick!) ideas for a new project as the one I'm doing (based around the Uni's Formula Student) I have little interest or motivation in, I need something drag racing related to sink my teeth into.

It needs a fair bit of research, and strong analytical content and I'm stumped, dunno if any of you will be able to help so this may be a long shot

My only ideas so far are:
new A-arms with aero struts rather than the current tubular ones
a full bellypan but this would involve full 3d modelling the car

ideally based around our altered (blown alky Rodeck will be in it next year not the injected motor in the pics)

Not sure what your looking for, but how about, Do cyl heads work better on a blown engine when, 1. they flow more air. or 2. they flow air faster? ;)

mechanical, thanks for the suggestion eli but its a bit beyond my scope and the Uni doesn't have much in the way of flow facilities

I've gone for an undertray, who knows, it might actually prove useful

    Unfortunately

You may have chosen a topic of study that's highly gaurded. Many forms of motorsports actually use the technology that you will be working with but as for our sport, more specifically, alcohol classes, this type of device is not legal for use. Also finding reputable sources for information will be difficult given the high cost of development and time consuming labor of modelling. Most corporate development data will have a big padlock on it. It's my understanding that you must have credentials to enter the Auto Research Center facility at Indy. Good luck with your project.

I've discussed it with my project tutor and he's happy to do it, we've got basic testing facilties for scale models and computer simulation.

I know they haven't been used much in drag racing mainly due to rules, but for the class we're in there is no ban on undertrays so it's worth looking into

Even though the main use is in circuit racing the basic principle will be the same
