whats the saying about when the shoe is on the other foot???

let me dig back in the ol a/fuel quotebook from the past few years to respond...

'is that all you a/fuel cars do is whine about parity?'

'if you a/fuel guys spent as much time on your 98% tuneup as you do whining about parity, you'd have it figured out'

'sometimes you have to think outside the box'

'if you want to run nitro, you just need to go funny car'

    drumroll....and tonite's no. 1 a/fuel line is...

'if you think the blown cars have an advantage, just go buy one' :D :D

seriously, this is all tongue in cheek in good fun, but i've already stated my opinion, which by the way was taking up for the a/fuel cars. i think when the dust settles factoring the nitro percentage for tracks/altitude may help. but the dust hasn't settled, we're barely into summer and the new a/fuel party line is 'it just won't work in the heat.' this line comes from the same people that sat back on their laurels on all their hard work, engineering, and 'no crying' when the blown cars held their 'advantage.' as a disclaimer, i don't want to include every a/fuel racer in this. if you've complained about parity this year, and complained about blown cars complaining about parity last year, you know who you are...without naming names, there is a certain a/fuel racer, who is running pretty damn good right now that told me at a race, 'i hope it gets warmer, my tuneup is more suited for warmer weather.' thats a dead on quote, not taken out of context.

if you go by the same logic parity has been based on the past few years, who has won the races? mcphillips won atlanta in the heat, snow won shreveport in the heat. maybe now some of you will taste just how much bs is in that logic...

as far as this weekend goes....highs forecasted in the mid 70's. i think the a/fuelers will be just fine. this is the same place GO and Meyer went 5.13 how many years ago now??

gloria, this isn't directed directly at you. but i do remember you saying a/fuelers will never run in the .20's again, much less a teen. the only way we can tell is give it time.

plus tell bill to save the index this weekend.... :D

Well if a blown car does happen to win at Topeka guess what guys I think unless I happened to have missed something here that will be 3 national event wins for the blower cars and HEY GUESS WHAT that will be 3 for the afuel cars!!!!!!! Wow can anyone imagine that one? I think with the weather what is sounds like it is gonna be here in the midwest tho that it is gonna be more like an afuel win tho. Rats that will mess up the parity wont it?

    TAD -

This race has the makings of the most competitive TAD race in 2005. Picking a winner out of the following 16 cars isn't easy:

    1. Bill Reichert
    2. Ashley Force
    3. David Wells
    4. Chris Demke
    5. Steve Federlin
    6. Jeff Wilson
    7. Marty Thacker
    8. Todd Datweiler
    9. Gene Snow
    10. Duane Shields
    11. Dave Hirata
    12. James Thompson
    13. Steve Torrence
    14. Darryl Hitchman
    15. Aaron Olivarez
    16. Hillary Will

    Reichert over Will
    Low ET 5.301

    TAFC -

Without Manzo or Newberry on the property, this TAFC field should be wide open. There are at least 10 cars entered that have a shot to win.

    1. Cy Chesterman
    2. Jay Payne
    3. Dennis Taylor
    4. Bucky Austin
    5. Doug Gordon
    6. Paul Lee
    7. Danny Townsend
    8. Jackie Stidham
    9. Kirk Williams
    10. Kebin Kinsley

    Chesterman over Payne
    Low ET 5.672
