The car runs to 6700rpm and acts like it hits a rev chip..took chip out, took fuel out...shoots raw fuel out all the zoomies. 1st run it did it at 7800 and every pass it got worse. will a points box go bad like that? or a crank trigger??? runs good on low rpm.. thanks, anthony

Years back we ran dual mag 12's on our TAD and had that happen. Motor would just shut off when you tried to do a burnout. Found the problem to be bad points boxes.

We were running a 20 for a few years with no problem then had some of the same problems as described here as well as throwing belts off and blowing burst panels. We also learned our batteries weren't very good so possibly the points boxes weren't getting adequate power. We haven't been back out since replacing the batteries and are stepping up to a 44 next time out which will be the Halloween Classic at Norwalk. We've got our fingers crossed.
