Can U ID this clutch?

I bought this clutch used and I'm not sure who made it. I'd appreciate your help.

With it being anodized gold and the single hole to measure ring height it looks like a Hay's clutch. But I don't recall Hay's making a 4 disk clutch. It also looks like it was modified to be a 4 disk clutch??

 

it does look like a hays. only problem is hays won't recertify it because they quit making the billet hat because they were flying apart. (sorry to be the grim reeper) also why would you need anything more than a 3 disk. I ran 5.80's with a 3 disk hays years ago. not to mention alcohol cars are still running 3 disk clutches to run 260 mph.

 

I sold a 3 disk Hay's clutch to a member of this board and he was able to get re-certified.

 

was it a billet or stamped steel? i was just replying what hays had told me a few years ago.

 

It was a billet hat.

 

I inquired about the billet hat at hays (i have a steel one) and Roy said they will not recert the billet hats for top alcohol because the studs are too small.

 

I will call hays monday. I will let you know what they say.
