has anyone ever experimented with making you own blower manifold? for example taking a regular say edelbrock gas duel carb style manifold cutting it in half and welding a blower plate on it for you blower. Would there be any gains? Would it hurt performance?

I wanted to in the late 70s but the friend of mine who owned a tunnel ram did not want me experimenting on it. Then Fred Mandoline built one in 1979 that he and Nick Bonifonte marketed in 1980 (to compliment the Ray-Nick heads). It made a .10 improvement over the Cragar for us. If someone knows how to contact Fred, he could tell what he started with.
