So what did the "Woz" do that had Von Smith all in an uproar at the big end? The show didn't lend any details other than Woz staged last...

All I know is that Smith looked pissed... I think Woz was lucky that those officials got in between them.

I also know I wouldnt want to be the one pissing him off  That man is very large.

    Staging

I will tell you exactly what happened...... Smith entered the pre staged lights first....Woz then went in and turned his pre staged lights however only one of the light bulbs were working on the pre staged lights, that may have thrown Smith off but....Woz reved his rpms not once not twice but three times until Smith finally went in...then the Woz went in and they went down and smith smoked the tires....Smith had a fit because he thought "WOZ" was playing games but instead of taking his loss as a man...he freaked out on him and made a fool of himself...now I must add that Woz did nothing wrong but waited for smith to rev up but never got a response and it went down hill from there!!!!

Not the first time Von has been a little upset at the races . I saw him in VA 3 years ago when he raced pro mod really yelling at another driver after the turn off , I did not see what happened on the starting line , we already ran and were ready to tow back to the pits . He was very upset .

To clear this up I was at the starting line. What happened was von and woz rolled up to pre-stage and woz rapped the throttle and so did von then woz was bringing up the Rev's and so did von and as von was bringing up the R's woz dropped his back down. Von heard this and dropped his back to an idle and this happened twice. So von finally brought them up and rolled in and woz hung him out almost to the 7 second rule as woz didn't come in for 6 seconds and of coarse the clutch got hot and shook. It took 17 seconds after the pre-stage lights were lit to green light... This was obvious as I heard several drivers had gone to the pit and spoke with von on what happened. He then tried it in second round but his competition just sat idling until woz went in and rolled the lights. Karma isn't it a great!

    staging duels

to quote tom conway (referring to another incident a while back) on staging duels
"It takes two drivers to have a staging duel"

not getting into right or wrong, but that video shows von wasn't staged for more than 3 seconds, max.

Old saying: A picture is worth a thousand words!
In this case, a video is worth TEN thousand !!!

Turn up your volume and you'll know where the B.S. stops!

    Thanks for posting Eric.

Looking at the seconds counting on the lower right corner of the video screen:

15 seconds, no one is staged.
    16 seconds Von is staged
    17 seconds nothing has changed
18 seconds both are in AND the 3 ambers are on.

I tried to time it with a stop watch and it seems like Mark went in a little less than 2 seconds after Von did.

Mark raps the throttle a few times while Von seems to raise and lower the RPMs. Looked clean to me. That's how drivers communicate.

I've seen more racers screw themselves over trying to be last to stage than if they just got up there and raced.
