    CN Billet blocks

CN billet blocks are the strongest, made to order, deck height, lifter size, cam location & size, wide pan rails if wanted, bolt on starter location for promod or other applications where self starting is required.NHRA-IHRA approved

Flash Just Curious How You Made The Final Conclusion That Chris's Blocks Are The Strongest. I Realize Cn Blocks Are Great Products And That's Who Makes The Minor Rhino Blocks I'm Just Curious For My Own Knowledge As The Rest Of The Readers On Here Is A Billet Alum. Block Stronger Than A Forging Such As The Tfx Or The Bae. I Have Always Been Told That A Forging Is Stronger Because You Take A Piece Of Alum. And Smash With Heavy Presses And Beat It Into Submission To The Shape You Want Giving A Stronger Grain Structure Than A True Billet. As Far As Which One Is Better I Think The Bae And The Tfx Are Pretty Comparable The Only Thing I Think The Tfx Has Going For It Is A Better Gear Drive Design But As A Catch 22 The Bae Will Accept All The Old Standard Raised Cam Chrysler Parts. Not Sure On The Weights Between The Two.

The grain structure of a billet block is uniform, the tfx-bae blocks are smashed into a form then machined from there.there is a difference of opinion of which design is stronger.but the big benefit of the cn blocks are versatility of custom design.CN blocks are now machined with starter locations on hemi applications on the block-if wanted, deck height, lifter bore sizes, cam shaft sizes, roller cam bearings if wanted, wide custom pan rails for ease of between round bottom end work.as long as you do not mess with the bore center the block is NHRA_IHRA approved.there is much more to these blocks than meets the eye.but as Chuck Nuytten has said many times,CN machines,tooling,2500 plus programs per block, fixtures custom made for each application, and the trail and error of learning how to do it at plus or minus 10ths of thousands on each measurement.there is a reason not many people do this.and some would say smashing a forging into a form, then machine from there is faster from a production standpoint. If you start looking at alot of promods, blown or nitrous cars, alot of CN billet blocks out there.Yes I am a personel freind of the Nuyttens,Have seen the process it takes to do this"the shop is off limits to customers"and it is remarkable to see it take shape into a block.CN blocks are lighter, have thicker sleeves if wanted.I own a CN block-you just about can't hurt it.

Looked at the CN block at PRI in Dec. very nice piece.Just wanting to know what most guys are using. CN doesn't offer the deck height i whant (.500 tall). We are looking into useing deck plates to get the height we need.

Forget that deck plate deal !!!!! ! I never knew anyone to get a decent seal between the Block & Plate and Plate & Head even on an unblown application.................

We would use a .500 tall sleeve in the block.Would make four easy repair if you were to tourch the top of the block.
