When was the last re-cert. done? If it has a serial number stamped into the can it can be re-certified. If not you'll have to buy another can.

It maybe a Lakewood or a Browell can? Most likely if YOU weld the ears on it you will NOT get it certified. If the company who made the can welds the ears on then they will certify it. Warning.....most companies that make cans will keep the can if it will not certify. They will send you the money for the value of the metal and no can?

Call Browell and give them the serial number 765.447.2292

Mike; the can is a Lakewood.
The block flange is scolloped, rendering it useless to SFI spec.
The sand drag guys would love it ! (no spec).

it looks like the 7 1/2" lakewood can i have - even down to the tube on the bottom and the blow back tabs on the sides. i haven't used mine in several years but tim hyatt recertified it for me. you might want to send your pics to him for identification.

    Can Re Cert

HI JUST WENT THROUGH THAT. IF THE CAN HAS BEEN SCALLOPPED. IT WONT CERTIFY. HAS TO BE COMPLETELY ROUND WHERE THE BOLT HOLES ARE NOT A WAVEY PATTER WHERE THE HOLES ARE DRILLED. THEY DID THIS IN THE EARLY YEARS FOR WIEGHT SAVINGS AND NOT SAFETY. IF YOU NEED A DOWN LOAD SPEC SHEET FOR LAKEWOOD SPECS ON CANS PASSING CERT YOU CAN EMAIL GEORGE AT GJAVORSK@MRGASKET.COM FOR A COPY OF THE SPECS ON WHAT DOES AND DOES NOT PASS INSPECTION

Thanks bob. I was in sac a few weeks ago going to licence in John Blanchards AA/FD and Mike Obrien said that you would be the guy to know. Said that you most likley did the scalloping. Ill see if any sand drag guys would be interested in it and go to browell. Thanks again everyone for the help.
