    End Gaskets

Alan Johnson sells it by the roll so you can cut to what ever length you need. AJ # is 805-922-1202

Go pick up a roll of weather stripping at your local Home Depot, or whatever store you have near that does home improvement stuff. It's not quite as dense as the KB stuff, but we haven't had a single problem with it!

    weather stripping

we've used it, works great from home depot or lowes...

just don't tell them it's for a racecar because instead of ringing up as 'weather stripping' for $4 a roll, it comes up 'BAE End Seal Gaskets' for $20 a roll....:D  :D

we give a good coat of silicone--helps it stay in place and no serious leaks so far.

We run a thin bead the length of the foam on the manifold (top) side, a good thick bead in the corners, and go up the head with a thin bead from the corners for about an inch. Nothing between the ports, just a little oil on the intake port o-rings. Seems to work for us, no leaks.

I never quite understood why manifold manufacturers never cout o-ring grooves in this location. If they work under blowers with 55+ psi, they should be able to handle crankcase pressures.

    added outside aluminum extrusion

We added a 1" x 1" aluminum angle extrusion bolted to the block with the vertical leg outside of the block and manifold flange. It adds support to the gasket from blowing out. And makes almost any glue and thick gasket combo work. If a manifold fire, the aluminum extrusion, bolted to the block, acts as a metal dam to arrest the gasket and flame out the manifold although we have not had a crank case fire. I think it is required in Top Fuel.
