Did you see instant results when you switched over to the PSI? I remember some teams not getting it at first.

Yes! It took us from being a second round player to a regular final round player... And being one of the few in the east to have it early put us in front on the learning curve once the rest of the competition got theirs...

for me in Europe it has to be:

Eero Kilpalinen running 5.69 in TAD when the record was around 5.75 first in the 5.6s in 1999 which stood for nearly 2 years as the record

Urs Erbacher 252mph a couple years ago in TAFC

Ulf Leanders 5.66 in TAFC again a couple years back

Krister Johansson's 262mph which has stood for 2 1/2 years now

    Thacker's run!

Thacker's 3/4 track wheelie was the greatest drag racing pass that I have ever witnessed in my life. This came after backhalving the car the weekend before and front halving the car the night before after a top end incident. Marty should write a book on that one. Go Rudolf Go.

    One that hasn't been mentioned...

Rick Santos made the first blown-TAD run in the 5.6s with a 5.69 at Sacramento Raceway in 1995 with his 374-cid small block Chevy. He had a .922 60 foot time (very stellar at the time) and went through the lights at 5.69, 239 mph.

    Brad,

Loved what Santos did with that small block. Its too bad that NHRA killed the weight break that allowed those guys to be as competitive as they were.

    in my opinion!

One run that seems to have been forgotten!

The year 1992! The scene the World Finals!

    My first trip to Pomona!
Ed Vickroy rips off at the time an unheard of 5.77 @ 253.16!!!!!
In my opinion the most amazing run for an A Fueler!
This run opened the door for many other people to take a look at this combo, or at least keep a watchful eye on the A Fuelers!

I remember standing in awe at the score board!

I mean .072 secs and 13 mph faster than the calss best at that that time was stunning!

Will, 1994 I remember Conway's 79 we ran an out of the trailer 5.808 with the and were on the pole! The National record was 5.804 at the time, so naturally we were pumped for race day! We were running the Whipple with a conventional head, everyone else was running the Brad Fathead stuff. Rain delayed the race then we made the highlight reels, one we wish we could erase! :(

What about Rob Atchison @ Rockingham for the IHRA World Finals in 2005 running a 5.685 with a roots blower and a 526 CHEVY WEDGE! Rob has to be the quickest roots blower TA/FC still in competition today.

Billy Gibson, back in like 2002 or so, at Cecil county Div 1 race, went to darn near half track with the wheels 2 feet in the air in the Cindrich/Sheetz alky dragster. Billy in my opinion is still one of the best out there, bar none!

That 92% over 5.61 @ 2001 Winters surprised alot of people but probably none more than Jim Collins...
Dad, Randy, and I joked he would be back at the trailer right after the session...sure enough...Jim checked the blower within an hour after the run...good memories...

We've had a couple scheduling conflicts with the divisional races( Norwalk, Chicago) should be heading to Indy divisional to try our luck. Other than that he's been tinkering with the racer and his street car! Not much to report up here in the D!

NHRA banned the car because it weighed just 1600 lbs(I think?). I remember when Rick was driving for Jack O' Bannon, I remember asking him how fast that old dragster would run with Grime's Motor combo in it??
