Shawn Cowie in the ex Hillary Will B/AD rips off a 5.36 at 271.65 in his first pass in competition. Was that the fastest blown run ever? How fast did Hillary go? It's either her or Hentges I believe...

Is Bucky Austin still consulting or tuning that car? Big motor or 451?

and then another 271 pass to runner up against Bayer. I beleive Hillary ran a 30 @ 270(I think?). Hentges ran a low 271 back in 99 or 2000. all of the above @ Mission Raceway Park

It was the fastest ever and lastest one day. Mark Hentges had the fastest previous with a 271.08 four years ago at MRP. There were three runs by Shawn Cowie (tuned by Bucky Austin and his apprenticeship by new student Bill Moore) faster than the previous best. the 273.05 was a thing of beauty Sunday round one. When Bucky figures out the right gear, trans and clutch set up for the bottom end, 5.20's will be the norm for that car in sub 1200 foot elevations in good track conditions.
And Steve Federlin with Tom Bayer in the seat will also knock on that door on a regualr basis. He has found something as well, according to talks overheard throughout the weekend. As far as the Severance team, they are still learning the Miner engine and they too will be there before the year is out.
Depending on where those three race I do think the 5.25 barrier will be broken. And Bucky will hit 275 if all ducks are in a row.
A side note too the weekend is, Bucky ran the old OD and half way between there and the new one all weekend. He did not run the new OD.

Engine is the old Hillary Will combo. 451 I believe

That is an awsome run no matter what the overdrive or conditions are. The two best previous speeds for a Tad were Mark Hentges and Sean O'Bannon at 271.08 Mark at Mission Sean at Chicago 2006.

273 in a Blown car is stout, but I'm curious what kind of motor damage is done at those RPM's?

You actually access it through SpeedZoneMagazine.com.
His site will be updated in the next couple days, for the Mission recap.

Sean pretty good weekend for you guys for sure (Topeka). Looks like you are getting close to getting her figured out.

That being said, still wish you were in TAD. WIth the rules they way they are right now, short of Riechert (always one guy to ruin the parity issue, many moons ago it was Rick S.) the BAD's are quite close to the A/F's. At least for the next three months anyway.

(Tom Bayer) Steve Federlin tuning, Whitely car (Grimes tuning), Perry and Cowie (Bucky tuning) plus three or four others close Thacker, Severance, Demke, and that old guy from the East (Kosky, sorry Mike had to) can all run in the twenty's this year.
And I think Bucky will tune that car to 275 in the fall.

Hey Clint what's with the ?????????????? Great weekend for you at MRP.
    HEHE;) ;)
