Blower boost???

    We were running k/9 @ 29% with some case mods. THIS GOT US 31#BOOST on our Venny.We were told to run a K11 with a large top opening at 50 % we could make lots more boost.We did it and seen no increase in boost at all. We only seen boost at different rpm. At 8300 rpm we max boost pressure and at 8600 we started to loose pressure. What is going on??? Dont the funny cars make boost up to 10000 rpm????Did we get a bad blower??? The max boost was 29.7 @8300rpm @1800ft 45%. need help need boost WE NEED HELP>

    Does the class you're in allow you to run more that 29%?

    Are the comparison boosts on the K-9 and the K-11 with both blowers fresh?

    Yes both are fresh. the k-9 has teflon rotor end plugs the k 11 has factory steel plugs.

    I believe you are 100% correct in the fact that blower boost should not go down with the increase of rpm. Thought about that for awhile and the only real thing is something is leaking somewhere on the pressure side of the blower. At low boost it maybe can't leak much but when the boost goes up it leaks more. Items to check is blower to manifold trueness, blower to manifold gasket or oring, intake manifold to head sealing and burst panel leakage. I recently saw one car that used that black plastic line to the manifold to measure boost and the line or fitting was cracked and leaking and dropped the boost level.

    Hi guy's
    I was thinking if it's possible to have some restriction from the hat !
    Is it possible , that at high rpm the engine (heads) breathing capability overpass what can pass through the hat.

    We had a small psi hat on a kobelco, and broke a belt every run. changed to enderle buzzard, didn't happen again. I don't know that it would need more at 29%, we were at 70%, but it's possible. what hat do you have now?
