I run 55 lbs on my hemi with a Whipple R980 at 76 percent over, does anyone get over 50 lbs with a 1471?

If so, whose supercharger are you using and what is the overdrive percentage?

This is a really good ? for a pro mod guy which I am not . I did have the chance to talk with one of the best PM racers and builders who is a current racer while I was at his shop . The friend I was with was dropping off his blower and fuel system for mods and lots of questions were asked and I was listening in on the conversations that went on . Max boost his PM engine made was 36 lbs. one time , and the avg is lower . He stressed it is quality boost and not max boost . Think about it , 20% o.d. , 2700 lbs , low 6.0s at over 240 mph , 2 disc clutch , and a back half e.t. close to 2.0 seconds .

At sea-level we hit 51psi with our 1471 roots. We average anywhere from 47-49 at sea-level, and 43-47 at home (about 2900 corrected alt.).

    511 ci, 4.310" bore, BAE V heads, 2006 Littlefield with K-11 rotors @ 55%, IHRA legal TAFC.

would it make sense to buy the best blower money can buy and run less overdrive to make the boost you what rather than buy a older 60 degre rotor blower and spin it 50 or 70 percent to get the same boost because it takes alot of power to spin them

The higher you spin a rootes blower the more it heats the incoming air charge and the more power is lost. You want a high helix retro blower. Do not waste your money on a standard blower. Exactly what kind of boost are you wanting to make on what size motor? What kind of car is this and what kind of racing?

Call TJ or Rich at SSI and give them that serial number. They can tell you exactly what it is. 440.243.8668. I bet it is a Series B. What does the exit look like on the bottom. Is it way forward and pie shaped or a rectangle hole?
