Anybody had problems getting total seal gap-less rings to seat. Ran the engine on a dyno to break it in made 3 pulls and have about 15-18 percent leakage on 3 cylinders the rest are about 8-10 percent. Just looking for answers first time using these rings and maybe the last ..Thanks

don't worry about it. 3 dyno pulls aren't enough to seat everything.

We have 2 seperate engines both idenaical same everything one is about 60 hp down from the other. We switched carbs, ign. plugs & wires rechecked everything the only difference is the leakage the other is abou 3- 4 percent all across. We even put the 1 st engine back on the dyno with the parts from the second engine with about 2 hp difference just tring to find the lost hp,

Have never had a problem with them myself and have used lots of sets . Anything is possible I guess , did you file the rings yourself or at least check them yourself before installation . Let us know what you find the problem to be when you figure it out .

That is a lot of leakdown so I will throw this into the pot.

The thin spacer ring goes on the bottom side of the ring groove.

I personally perfer the Childs & Albert style rings.

There was a whole thread regarding this, I think last year. Dig through the archives, alot of guys here DID NOT like the total seals for blown alky use.
Not sure of which ring they were referring to tho..
