    tank

depends on your tank capacity. the more the better, but if you put too much in, it will either leak out of the vent, or worse, cavitate due to inadequate ventilation. i know of one racer that blew a few motors up due to too much oil in the tank and the tank couldn't vent.

more oil means cooler oil, less dillution, and more supply on hand.

you also need to have your tank baffled so that the oil can't run away from the pick up when you throw the parachutes....big key in keeping oil pressure in the shutdown area.

    Oil Capacity

18 to 20qt's total is the norm as long as the tank will hold the total amount of the oil use. Another way to say this would be a minimum of 18qt's and the tank capacity need to be at least 1qt better than the total amount of oil used.
