Can any one give me a pointer on a economical way to electric shift a bruno/lenco combo? I have heard of a few guys using ACD controllers.I have a 2 speed with air shift now, but I would like to look for a way keep both hands on the wheel and eliminate the driver error part on consistant shifting:D thanks for any help howard

Bruno makes, or at least used to make, an rpm controlled air shifter. Worked great.

    Acd

i have run an ACD shifter on a 3 speed lenco behind a bruno. i still had to have the shift buttons on the steering wheel in case i needed to overide the automatic shifter. i also needed an overide electric button on the steering wheel if i wanted to use the ACD to overide the MSD chips. i truthfully found it easier to manually push the buttons than use the ACD. by carefully adjusting the shift light chips i have been able to make the button shifts the same as the ACD unit. if you choose to run the ACD make sure to wire it correctly with fuses on the hot wire to each solenoid - if they are hot wired you can burn up the shift solenoid at over $70.00 each. too low of a fuse and it blows thus missing a shift. i've tried both and i now believe the air buttons manually shifted on the steering wheel are the safest and best way to shift.

I found that the best way to do this with out burning up the clutches in my lenco is to use the air push button that you use on your stearing wheel and take a air ram(like what they use on the automatic shifter set ups) and make a plate with brackets for the air ram to ram the shifter button. I use a nitrous seloniod to give air to the ram and this is controlled off a relay tied into my shift light on my tach.

I used the same set-up as lowcountry71 : ACD 3 speed shifter or 2 speed if you want . you can let the system shift alone like automatic or manually push the overide button on the steering to upshift .
    very simple & reliable system
The p/n number from ACD is # 8203-3 , this is for 3 speed , (then you have one spare solenoid )
the kit is around $ 450.00 to $ 500.00 + the bottle and regulator

We ran Bakersfield last year and there was an Altered that used an air ram to activate the shifter button. He had the button mounted off an upright and the ram on a bracket. He could manually activate the shifter with his hand but when he ran the air ram activated and hit the button for him. looked very simular to how we run our power glide shifter. My buddy asked him if he had any problems and the only issue he had was he ran 2 regs 1 for the Lenco and 1 for the air shifter. I know that the air shifter stuff runs on a max of 125psi.. not too sure about the lenco though.
