We have been doing it for years. You need to use a remote solenoid, and jumper the start wire from the battery terminal. This jumper usually comes with the starter.

Ditto, but now carry a spare. burns out when on too long. went to local wreckers yard, some japanese cars use same motor and unit, you may find that your US vehicles could as well, try diesel vehicle. (has the exact spline too) hitachi. I Milled the housing of my mcloud and presto from $45.00 to $65.00 for complete s/h starter, just bolt the electric motor to the housing. Check the solenoid is same bolt pattern also, cheap way to get more KV, if you have a smaller one.

YEP... 24volts and a dose of common sense (don't 'prime' the motor with it or crank it too long)... other wise giv'er hell. Tilton told me the same thing. don't know about the remote solenoid. mine is a box stock tilton super starter. sean

These starters basically came out of the Import cars. The best ones are from the diesel engines. They are longer (maybe 1 to 1 1/2") and are heavier duty.

    starter

For a few hundred dollars, is it worth having a problem in the staging lanes just before eliminations? I spend so much money anyway, who wants to go home because of a smoked starter or electrical issue? Just my opinion.

    starter

After messing around with all brands and using tilton as the best I just got a csr 24 volt unit. It spins it like it didn't have spark plugs! so far so good!
