Fan Appreciation Low E.T. Challenge Award up for grabs in Atlanta!

For Immediate Release.

The 2nd Annual Fan Appreciation Low E.T. Challenge is once again up for grabs at this weekend's Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

Prestress Transportation, Inc., Team PTI Racing, and David Smith has teamed up for a second year to offer the Fan Appreciation Awards to the low qualifier in Top Alcohol Funny Car and in both classes that compete in the Top Alcohol Dragster Category. Last year, Jay Payne, David Wells, and Michael Gunderson each walked away with a check for $250.00 and a Low E.T. Plaque for their respective low e.t.'s in qualifying.

Both David and I are looking forward to once again presenting this fan appreciation award on
Sunday, May 15, 2005

The categories and awards are as follows:

Low e.t., TA/FC, $250.00 and a plaque
Low e.t., A/FD, $250.00 and a plaque
Low e.t., B/AD, $250.00 and a plaque

Since I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area and this is my race team's home track, it is a very special award for both my family and I. My daughter Lauren, age 14, is the defending track champion in the junior dragster category. I appreciated the opportunity for my family and I to meet many of you last year and look forward to visiting with your racing teams once again this weekend.

Thanks Marty for the compliments. Hopefully throughout the year we can pick up some sponsers to do more Low ET Challenges. Also in Atlanta I should be recieveing some Shelly Howard (Oklahoma) Decals if anybody would like one I will have them they are $5 and all proceeds goto the special olympics.

Laurie Silvey with Drag News did a great job on that article. Lauren is having a good first part of this season as well with 2 wins in the first 5 points races. We have also won 3 super pro events as well. It would be great to be able to put her in a TAD or TAFC someday so she would have a chance at winning a low e.t. award, but as you all know, that depends on funding and the Lord's will.

My older son, Johnny who just turned 16 will be getting into our 225 inch Undercover dragster next weekend so there is a lot of excitement going on around here.
