If you are driving into Canada you do not need a passport in 2007 . Flying in you do need one in 07 . http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html

 

As I crossed the border last night I can tell you exactly what is required. Picture ID and a Birth Certificate.. My Son was with me (he's 11) and I have to show his Birth Certificate.. If you are flying into the USA from Canada or another country you require a Passport..In Jan 2008 you will require a Passport to drive or Fly into the USA
