    Buying a car .

Rob s , you should consider this car ! it is very nice and low runs . If you send Dylan an E-mail he may be able to send you a photo . There is no prettier car out there that I know of with that low number of runs , I don't think These guys ever drove it to the finish line (no banana's?).

    driver fit and car spec

Make sure the driver can fit in the car. And it is a good idea to look at the chassis certification history. If it is not recent, it may not pass without major rework. Older cars, especially ones stored in the winter outside, may have corrosion from the inside and may not pass. And if they do, they may not be safe.
In addition check the wheel base. Later cars are 124 or 125. Older cars are often less. Valuable for nostalgia with an older body. But not as valuable with a current body which probable cannot be fit to a short roller chassis only.
In addition, look at the distance from the motor plate to the axle. Ours is 62 inches which is short with a tight driver fit, but good for rear weight biais. Some cars have the engine out quite far (68 inches or more(. They may be a bit tricky to setup on a bad track.
In general, the more complete the car and the more current it was running, the better you may be. Many older cars are just as valuable, but you never know unless the source is reputable. Even if you have to spend more, buying a chassis with a body will probably be cheaper in the long run. Also, the more complete with brackets, pedal, motor plate, tin, shut mounts, lexan, etc. the better; if in good shape. You can get financially drained retrofitting extra brackets and stuff. Everytime I have examined the various alternatives, buying a complete running car was the cheapest. Buying a complete running roller was next. Although the driver and the motor have to fit.

    FC roller

My Advice is to take someone with you that is knowledgable in funny car chassis and the different types as there are several, try to match the chassis style in WB (125") with what fuel/engine combination and et you are intending on running.
