Will.......... Are you still using the Frank Weiss oil pump? Tell us about it. We have one on our dyno engine, but haven't tried it yet. Thanks

Yes, especially curious whether it can draw/maintain a decent measure of vacuum in a blown alky application.

On a related note, has anyone tried the "new" Auto Verdi big pump (50% larger than their last), and do you have any feedback re: the same question?

    sorry for the delay

been busy at the shop getting ready for the season.

the fwrc pump is just about the meanest thing ever type of deal. bearing life is close to 4x or 5x over our old dry sump. customer service is second to none.

not to mention we have plenty of oil pressure in the shutdown area.

being a two stage pump we're able to scavenge out of the back of the lifter valley (through the oil fill hole with a pick up) and the normal oil pan location. the superior scavenging of the pump gets the oil back to the tank where it is usable by the system opposed to the top of the motor.

the built in filter is a nice addition as well.

i can't imagine running anything else.

    contact them at www.fwrc.com

Thanks........ What size is your suction line from the tank? #16? The pump sure is a slick looking piece. We will be running it on a Brad 521 dyno motor next week.

    double check

i'm pretty sure the suction line is 16 and the return is a 20.

    Oil Pump

We ran the Frank Wiess oil pump all last year with no problems. First year in 11 years of racing the TA class that we haven't had some type of oiling issues. We now cross the finish line everytime with 150 - 160 # oil pressure.

We also evacuate oil from the manifold. (don;t like to tell this but we even had the oil pan drain plug come out on one run and still had 150# of oil pressure when we crossed the finish line.) Also no oil on the track which tells you the pump is getting oil back where it needs to be which is in the tank. It for sure saved us a motor on that run
