Anyone have any experience with the newer style 8mm belts for a screw blown combo? I heard they break alot easier and I have also heard they last alot longer so at this point I am confused and have to buy pulleys and belts soon.

On a couple of the alcohol teams I have crew'd for, the purple RCD belts have led to double the number of passes per belt. Give JR a call at RBS for the scoop.

The Purple Letter Rcd Belts Are Know As The Gates Ps Belts. They Are Using The 11mm Belt Cord Technology In The 8mm Belts. Little Bigger Cord Little Stronger Belt. As Always The Belt Debate Of What Is Stronger What Will Give More Runs Will Always Be There But In My Opinion It Is A Stronger Belt Wether You Get More Runs Out Of It Depends On Many Variables Tensioning, engine Rpm,rev Limiters Etc. Hope This Helps We Stock Both Styles.

With the new 2.28 ratio, how tight do you guys tension the belt? Run it tighter or the same or a little more slack? My wife got me 20 belts for Christmas, (they're not the purple letter 8mm) and I don't want to use them up before the season starts. Thanks to anyone with good info. B.G.

Read my post. If you got 20 you will be pushing to get more than 20 runs. Mike
